Zhicun Lithium begins phase one production at 120ktpy lithium carbonate project

On July 2, Zhicun Lithium commenced the phase one production of its 120,000tpy battery grade lithium carbonate project. It is the company's first battery grade lithium carbonate project that became operational in Xinjiang this year.
With total investment of RMB4.6 billion (USD635 million) from Xinjiang Zhicun Lithium Industry Co., Ltd., the project covers an area of 1,300Mu (86.67 hectares) and will build a production base for 120,000tpy of battery grade lithium carbonate. The first phase of the project, with capacity of 60,000tpy, is expected to generate annual production value of RMB18 billion (USD2.48 billion) at full capacity and create nearly 1,500 jobs.
