The Cauchari-Olaroz salt lake project in Argentina, owned by Minera Exar S.A., Ganfeng Lithium's holding company, recently produced its first batch of lithium carbonate. It is expected that with the subsequent ramp up of production capacity and optimization of production lines, the project will gradually produce battery grade products, but there is still uncertainty about the time of reaching design capacity and specific output.
The project is located in Jujuy, Argentina, with total lithium resources of about 24.58 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), and the company has control of the project. The capacity of the first phase of the project is planned to be 40,000t of LCE, and the capacity of the second phase is not less than 20,000t of LCE. The first batch of lithium carbonate produced this time is the capacity of the first phase of the project.
