Jiangxi Pingxiang Tuoyuan halts industrial grade lithium carbonate production again

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Apr 23 - Jiangxi Pingxiang Tuoyuan Industrial Co., one of the major industrial grade lithium carbonate 99%min producers in China, halted industrial grade lithium carbonate 99%min production again on 3 April 2023 due to continuously dropping prices and produced about 100t over the first three days of April before production halt, according to a source from the company.
"We halted production in late February due to weak demand and dropping prices. We resumed production in late March but stopped production again on April 3nd as our clients lowered target prices continuously and we couldn't gain any profits at current price levels," said the source, who expects an output of only around 100t in April, without much change MoM.
Established in 2013, Jiangxi Pingxiang Tuoyuan Industrial Co. owns an annual production capacity of 10,000t of industrial grade lithium carbonate 99%min. The company's outputs in 2022 and so far in 2023 recorded approximately 7,200t and 1,100t respectively. He holds an inventory of around 700t now, an increase of 100t MoM.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese lithium carbonate 99%min, Na 0.15%max, K 0.2%max declined to RMB180,000-185,000/t (USD26,152-26,879/t) delivered D/P, down by around RMB6,000/t (USD872/t) from one week ago.
