Liaoning Huanren Mining to increase the output of iron ore fines

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 23 - As a major producer of iron ore fines in Benxi, Liaoning province, Liaoning Huanren Mining Co. (Liaoning Huanren Mining) would expand the production by about 50% MoM to around 30,000t in April, said a source of the company.
"We suspended the production for eleven days last month and just produced around 20,000t of iron ore fines. The planned output would reach about 30,000t in April," revealed the source. According to him, they have a stockpile of about 6,000t in hand now against zero stock last month.
Based on the average grade of crude iron ore of 29%min in the mines and the processing capacity of ore of about 2,600tpd in the concentrator, Liaoning Huanren Mining produces iron ore fines 66%min with an annual production capacity of around 400,000t. The company produced about 260,000t of iron ore fines in 2022 and around 51,000t in the first quarter of 2023.
The present mainstream prices of iron ore fines 66%min hover at RMB976/dt (USD142/dt) Inc-VAT EXW D/P in Benxi, up by RMB10/dt (USD1.45/dt) from those of last week. Insiders expect Chinese origin iron ore prices to drop in the coming week due to the price decrease of imported iron ore at ports and in international market.
