Tangshan Steel expands HRC production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Mar 23 - Hebei Iron and Steel Group Co. (HBIS) Tangshan Steel Laoting Plant (Tangshan Steel), a leading HRC producer in North China, might produce 510,000t of HRC in March, up from 435,000t in February.
"We will run fully of the only 2,050mm HRC production line this month, with the output to witness the MoM rise of 75,000t to 510,000t. Therein, the output of commercial HRC would reach 330,000t, with the rest CR base raw materials," disclosed a sales official from Tangshan Steel. In the meantime, he revealed that orders for March exceeded the output already as end users purchased actively with the positive anticipation for the market prospect. Boosted by the improving sales performance, Tangshan Steel moved up concluding prices of HRC for February production by RMB80/t (USD12/t) to RMB4,160/t (USD603/t) on the basis of January.
Based on an annual production capacity of 6 million tons, Tangshan Steel totally recorded the output of around 4.6 million tons in 2022, down from 5.5 million tons more or less in 2021. Tangshan Steel holds no stock of HRC right now.
The present mainstream price of HRC Q235B 5.5mm*1,500mm*C stands at RMB4,240/t (USD614/t) D/P in warehouse Tangshan, Hebei, similar to Tuesday. Adopting optimistic anticipation for the market prospect, traders remain reluctant to decrease prices, and the market performance improves gradually.
