Tangshan Hengkun's 50ktpy LFP project begins commercial production

The phase one lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project with annual capacity of 50,000t in Qianxi County developed by Tangshan Hengkun New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. recently began commercial production. With investment of RMB1.55 billion (USD222 million), the project is expected to achieve annual production value of RM3 billion (USD430 million) and tax revenue of RMB800 million (USD115 million).
Meanwhile, the company's phase two project with capacity of 80,000tpy of LFP is under construction. The company also finished preliminary work for its 200,000tpy LFP cathode material and precursor project in Caofeidian District with investment of RMB5.5 billion (USD789 million) and expects to break ground on the project in March 2023, with commercial production projected to start by late October, 2024.
