On December 26, Hainan Wanning one-million-kilowatt floating offshore wind power project of Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), the world's largest floating offshore wind power project officially started construction
The project is located in the eastern sea area of Wanning, Hainan, with a planned installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, an annual average power generation of about 4.2 billion kilowatt hours and a total planned investment of RMB23 billion (USD3 . 30 billion) . The project will be constructed in two phases . The first phase of the project with an installed capacity of 200,000 kilowatts, will be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2025; The second phase with an installed capacity of 800,000 kilowatts, is planned to be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2027.
