On December 20, a full-capacity operation launching ceremony was held at the CGN Shanwei offshore wind power controlling center for the CGN Jiazi 900MW offshore wind power project, indicating that China's largest offshore wind power project goes into operation in Shanwei city and the first GW-level offshore wind power project in eastern Guangdong was built in Shanwei.
With the CCG Jiazi 900MW offshore wind power project going into operation, the overall 1,400MW offshore wind power program in Shanwei city has been completely built and commenced operation. It is expected to provide electricity of over 4 . 5 billion KWH per year to Guangdong province and can save standard coal consumption by around 1 . 45 million tons and cut carbon dioxide emission by around 3 . 5 million tons.
