Japan to mine rare earth resources at waters near Ogasawara Islands

The Japanese government recently announced that it planned to mine rare earth resources at the waters near Minami Torishima Island, part of the Ogasawara Islands and will identify mining process in the next fiscal year, expecting to commence pilot drilling within five years.
