Recently, Xiyang County held an investment cooperation signing ceremony with Shangtai Tech Co., Ltd., marking the official launch of Shangtai's Phase IV lithium battery cathode material project with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. Since the construction of Shangtai Lithium Battery Project was started in Xiyang County in May 2018, three phases were implemented successively, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan (690 million US dollars), and a full industrial chain of lithium battery cathode material raw material treatment, modified granulation, medium and high temperature modification, coating and finished product processing has been gradually formed.
The Phase IV 300,000tpy lithium battery cathode material project covers an area of 2,400mu, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan (1.66 billion US dollars). After the project is completed, the production capacity of Shangtai Tech in Shanxi will reach 500,000 tons.
