Sale of gasoline-fueled automobiles to be banned in Hainan by 2030

On August 22, the People's Government of Hainan Province issued Hainan Province Implementation Plan on Reaching Peak Carbon Dioxide Emission. According to the plan, by 2025 a green economic system and low carbon energy system will be preliminarily built in Hainan and local emission of carbon dioxide will be under reasonable control; by 2030 sale of gasoline-fueled automobiles will be banned in Hainan. Except for special purposes, vehicles in public service and social transportation sectors will all be clean energy powered, and NEV proportion in new and replaced privately-owned automobiles will be 100%.
