Jiangxi province achieves major technical breakthrough in rare earth steel industrialization project

On December 20, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangxi Province revealed that the province recently witnessed a major technical breakthrough in a provincial level major technological project, high-quality rare earth steel industrialization project. The technical breakthrough was fulfilled by Xinsteel which succeeded in continuous casting for over five furnaces with rare earth-steel proportion amounting to over 40%. Xinsteel also achieved mass production capacity.
With the project implemented, Xinsteel now has high-quality rare earth steel plate production lines and 1,000tpy low-oxygen high-purity rare earth metals production lines. It also succeeded in using rare earth in producing eight steel plate varieties including die steel, wear-resistant steel, vessel steel, bridge steel, and marine-purpose steel with related production technical standards already formulated.
