China's first lithium metal battery production line was recently built and its half-year production value is expected to reach RMB30 million (USD4.69 million). Its investor Beijing Jinyu New Energy Technology is continuously optimizing batteries used in the 3C industry and has commenced trial production of power batteries. Its 420Wh/Kg battery can enhance NEV endurance mileage to 1,200km.
As a battery technical route using lithium metal as battery anode, lithium metal battery has a capacity of 3860mAh/g, which is about ten times that of graphite, and is compatible with existing high-capacity battery cathode system. And high-energy-density lithium metal battery can have an energy density easily reaching over 400wh/kg which is over 40% higher than that of ordinary Li-battery.
