State Council issues Development Plan of New Energy Vehicle Industry from 2021 to 2035

The General Office of State Council of China issued recently the Development Plan of New Energy Vehicle Industry from 2021 to 2035.
According to the development plan, the average power consumption of new pure electric passenger vehicles will decline to 12.0KWH/100km by 2025, when sales of brand-new new energy vehicles will account for about 20% of total sales of new vehicles and the commercial applications of highly autonomous vehicles in designated areas and specific scenarios will be realized; by 2035, pure electric vehicles will occupy the largest proportion of newly-sold vehicles, public vehicles will be fully electrified, fuel cell vehicles will achieve commercial applications and highly autonomous vehicles will achieve large-scale applications . All these will effectively promote energy conservation and emission reduction and improve social operational efficiency.
