To further improve business environment and cut customs clearance time, since 2019, Wuhan Customs has been performing laboratory test and comprehensive assessment and issuing certificates after clearance for imported mineral products, including chrome ore, iron ore, zinc ore and lead ore, which are only required to pass some basic on-site inspections before being picked up by buyers. Since the implementation of this new mode, the average clearance time for imported chrome ore has been shortened significantly from 15 days to just 1 hour.
According to relevant statistics, 163 batches of imported chrome ore with total weight of 217,000t and gross value of USD41.04 million were inspected through this new mode by Huangshi Customs; 169 batches of imported chrome ore with total weight of 229,000t and gross value of USD43 . 565 million were inspected through this new mode by Wuhan Customs.
