Jiuyuan District of Baotou plans to invest RMB1 billion to build a high-purity rare earth metal base covering an area of nearly 400 mu, which will become the only high-purity rare earth metal base in Inner Mongolia.
As an important link between rare earth raw materials and functional rare earth application, high-purity rare earth metal is a shortcoming of the development of rare earth industry in Baotou. At present, high-purity rare earth metal capacity in China is about 40,000 tons, mainly concentrated in provinces such as Jiangxi and Sichuan, accounting for about 80% of the world market.
Jiuyuan District plans to invest RMB1 billion to build a 99.99% high-purity rare earth metal base covering an area of nearly 400 mu in the core area of rare earth new material industrial park . After completion, the total output will be 30,000 tons of high-purity (99 . 99%) rare earth metal . The first batch of 5 rare earth metal projects are expected to be completed and put into operation in 2019, which will form an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons; at the same time, the base will actively introduce rare earth hydrogen storage, polishing, catalysis and other industrial projects based on rare earth metal base.
