Baotou launches ten policies supporting rare earth industry development

To promote the upgrade of rare earth industry, Baotou launched ten policies that support development of rare earth new material industrial park, which includes raw material supply, land policy, infrastructure construction, preferential electricity charge, industrial fund, sales incentives and discount loans, taxation incentives, optimization of business environment, brain gain subsidy and technology innovation incentives.
According to the policy, all downstream manufacturers in Inner Mongolia rare earth new material industrial park should be given priority to rare earth raw material supply, prices of which are 5% lower than market prices.
Industry fund support should be strengthened by establishing about RMB10 billion of industry fund. The fund will support rare earth industry and give priority to rare earth raw material and application projects, encourage top 500 enterprises in the world and China to station into the park. Besides, investment incentive and brain gain policies should also be implemented.
