School-enterprise cooperation to develop new rare-earth-aluminum alloy technology research

Recently, in order to make full use of the superior scientific research resources of universities and to better achieve product innovation and upgrading, Aba Aluminum Plant and College of Materials Science and Engineering Sichuan University signed a scientific research cooperation agreement. The two parties will focus on the major needs of the country and the industry to have cooperation on developing new rare-earth-aluminum alloy and related basic application, etc.
It is understood that after the breakthrough in the key technologies for the industrialization of high-strength, high-conductivity rare earth (Te) aluminum alloy in this project, it will produce a number of landmark results that can reflect the unification of social, ecological, and economic benefits. Aba Aluminum Plant will make a complete industrial chain from structural materials to functional materials, greatly enhancing the core market competitiveness of the company which will develop a new type of industry development path with high technological content, low resource consumption, and low environmental pollution and promote leapfrogging development of the company.
