The six rare earth groups hold seminar in Beijing

On March 6, 2018, the "the seminar of six rare earth groups" organized by ACREI was held in Beijing. Gan Yong, the honorary President of ACREI, Zhang Hongjie, the president of ACREI, relevant leaders from raw material department of MIIT, senior leaders from China Rare Earth Co., Ltd., Minmetals Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd., China Northern Rare Earth (Group) Hi-tech Co., Ltd., Xiamen Tungsten Industry Co., Ltd., China Southern Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Rare Earth Industry Group Co., Ltd., as well as secretariat of ACREI attended the meeting. Yang Wenhao, the secretary general of ACREI, presided the meeting.
Gan Yong delivered a keynote report focusing on the introduction of "Made in China 2025" plan, strategic emerging industries, major national projects on new material development and national standardization strategies. The content of the meeting was rich and informative.
The leaders of the six rare earth groups exchanged and introduced their productions and operations and reform and development in 2017 and the working arrangement in 2018. They learned and drew inspiration from each other for a reference. In 2017, the six rare earths groups have made gratifying achievements either in internal structure management, production management, enterprise management, scientific and technological progress or in the enterprise reform and development.
Wang xiaofeng, deputy secretary-general of the China rare earth industry association, made a report on "the general situation of the rare earth industry in 2017 and the work plan for 2018".
The delegates conducted in-depth analysis, research and discussion on the prominent problem of China's rare earth industry. They put forward corresponding opinions and suggestions and formed a number of consensuses on addressing those problems.
Zhang Hongjie first congratulated the six groups on the achievements in the past year. Focusing on rare earth extension application industry, he introduced technology advances and new applications of rare earth magnetic materials, luminescent materials, hydrogen storage materials, catalytic materials, polishing materials, rare earth alloy materials. He suggested that rare earth enterprises, especially the six rare earth groups, should enlarge input in technology research and development, talents and capital for projects with market prospects.
Relevant leaders from rare earth division of raw materials department of MIIT gave recognitions of the seminar of six rare earth groups held by ACREI, expressed gratitude for communications of all parties, and made a positive response to the opinions and proposals put forward by participants.
