3 men of Fujian mined rare earth illegally in forest area in order to seek personal gain
During September and October of 2014 in lunar calendar, Zhong decided to mine rare earth in forest area of a company after the negotiation with a man from Jiangxi. Zhong signed a transfer contract with the company on forest interest and then started to organize mining activities of rare earth in November 2014 without mining license . The material was finally sold after being weighed by Lian and Chen.
The illegal activity was founded by Bureau of Land Resource of Pingwu County on April 7th when the materials were transported to other regions. Zhong was caught by public security organ on August 17th, 2016 and Lian and Chen confessed the illegal activity after receiving telephone notification . It was identified that RMB10 . 102 million of rare earth resources were damaged by illegal mining activities of Zhong, Lian anc Chen.

According to People’s Court of Pingwu County on June 14th, a men with the last name of Zhong was sentenced for imprisonment of 4 years and two months for illegal mining with fines of RMB500,000 in the first instance; other two men with the last name of Lian and Chen were sentenced for imprisonment of 3 years with fines of RMB100,000 respectively.
