Baotou government conducts radiation safety inspection on all local rare earth enterprises

In order to strengthen the management on radiation environment safety, Baotou of Inner Mongolia plans to conduct the radiation environment safety inspection on all local rare earth enterprises from April to June 2017.
The inspection will focus on whether rare earth enterprises’ environmental procedures on radiation are complete, whether the waste water is discharged at required radioactivity standard, whether the waste residue is stored safely, whether the radiation level is normal and others. Before late April, all bureaus of environmental protection in all banners, counties and districts shall finish organizing investigations on related enterprises; related enterprise shall finish self-checks under the organization of environmental bureaus. Before late May, the inspection of radiation environment safety on related enterprises shall be finished based on results of investigations and self-checks. Before late June, all work related to the inspection shall be completed with a summary being submitted to related departments.
Related enterprises shall perform main duties on radiation safety, conduct self-checks seriously, solve all problems appeared during self-checks actively, finish pollution abatement work and bear related fees. Enterprises which need to be shut down shall be closed after the application to the local government.
