Aotecar to acquire 100% stake in Highstar for RMB2.5 billion to start power lithium battery business

On late February 6, Aotecar (002239) released its plan (revised edition) to issue shares to purchase assets and raise supporting funds, claiming that the company intends to acquire Highstar Powder for RMB2.5 billion (USD364 million) to enter into power lithium battery business; at the same time, the company plans to raise no more than RMB1.55billion (USD226 million) for the use of raising Highstar's capacity and paying for intermediaries.
It is reported that Highstar is one of the companies in China who engaged in independent research and development, production and sales of new energy powder and energy storage lithium-ion batteries in early times. Its main products include lithium-ion batteries, nickel-based batteries and power management system (BMS) with 13 invention patents and 12 utility model patents. The company is included in the Ministry of Industry's enterprise list (first batch) of "Lithium-ion battery industry standard conditions" and enterprise list (second batch) of "Automotive power battery industry standard conditions."
