BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Jun 12 – According to sources, the quotations of cadmium ingot from the major domestic cadmium ingot suppliers of Huludao Zinc Industry Co
A representative from Huludao Zinc Industry Co. Ltd shared with Asian Metal that their quotations of cadmium ingot 99.995% decreased from RMB18-19/kg (USD2 . 86-3.02/kg) two weeks ago to RMB17 . 5-18.5/kg (USD2 . 78-2.90/kg) now due to the slow demand and downward tendency of the imported cadmium ingot prices. “But for some small-volume inquiries, our quotations are still RMB18/kg (USD2.86/kg), only for some large volume and long-term consumers, our quotations will be lower and the dealing prices also get lower,” said the source.
Commenting on the future market, the source said that some consumers just inquiry to check with the prices, and when quoted to them, they will not take purchase. “So we just quote to them when there is real demand from the consumers,” added the source, expecting that the prices will continue to be stable in the short run.
A South-based consumer from South China with a monthly consumption of about 30t also confirmed with Asian Metal that the quotations from Zhuzhou Smelter also went down to RMB17.5-18.5/kg (USD2 . 78-2.90/kg) from RMB18-19/kg (USD2 . 86-3.02/kg) . According to the source, who is a long-term consumer of Zhuzhou Smelter, the market now is still dim with consumers having no intention of holding any stocks.
The source said that they only take purchase when there is a downstream order coming. Besides, there is still great stock pressure for the major smelters, so they have to lower their quotations and dealing prices to attract orders.
