Chinese mercury metal prices decreasing further

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 12 – Sources reported to Asian Metal that due to the slow demand from the downstream industries, mercury metal 99.999%min prices in Chinese market decreased further from RMB680-690/kg (USD108-110/kg) in the week before to RMB670-680/kg (USD107-108/kg) VAT included.
A producer from South China with a monthly output of about 100t shared with Asian Metal that mercury metal 99.999%min prices dropped to RMB670-680/kg (USD107-108/kg) this week, down from RMB680-690/kg (USD108-110/kg) last week. “Consumers are not willing to make procurement at the present time as the prices are still on the downward trend,” said the source, revealing that the prices now still show signs of going down further.
According to the source, the major reasons for the prices rising are not only the slow demand but also the increasing supply in the market.
A consumer also from South China disclosed to Asian Metal that mercury metal 99.999%min prices in China decreased from RMB680-690/kg (USD108-110/kg) last week to RMB670-680/kg (USD107-108/kg) this week VAT included. According to the source, the prices are still on the downward trend. “I am not intending to replenish stocks at the present time, and I will watch the market in the near future,” said the source, whose consumption volume is 80-100t per month.
