Chinese crude steel output reaches 626.65 million tons in 2010

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Jan 11 – According to latest figures of National Bureau Statistics of China, the domestic crude steel output was 51.52 million tons in December,2010, increasing by 6.3% compared with that of 2009. While the daily output was 1.6619 million tons in December, witnessing a month-on-month decrease of 10,000t. Meanwhile, the total output of crude steel was 626.65 million tons in 2010, rising by 9.3% compared with that of 2009.
In addition, the country produced 46.65 million tons of pig iron and 67.84 million tons of finished steel in December, increasing by 2.3% and 3.5% respectively year on year. Meanwhile, the total outputs of above two products were 590.22 million tons and 796.27 million tons in 2010, witnessing the year-on-year increase of 7.4% and 14.7% respectively.
