Chalco reports higher Q1 primary aluminum production and sales

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) produced 4.25 million tonnes of metallurgical grade alumina in the first quarter of 2024, up by 6.78% from the year ago period, while metallurgical grade alumina sales during the period declined by 9.09% year on year to 1.5 million tonnes, according to the company's quarterly report.
From January to March, Chalco produced 1.78 million tonnes and sold 1.76 million tonnes of primary aluminum (including alloy), up by 16.34% and 11.39% respectively from the prior year period.
