Hongxing Casting to build 30ktpa industrial silicon project

The environmental impact assessment for an industrial silicon project developed by Hongxing Casting Co., Ltd. in Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County has been accepted by the local environmental authority.
The company plans to build the project at its existing plant in Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County, with a total investment of RMB20 million (USD2.8 million), including RMB1 million (USD139,939) for environmental protection purpose. Construction of the project is expected to take five months.
The project will use recycled waste silicon powder as the raw material to produce industrial silicon through a series of processes including prilling, drying, melting and sizing, which does not involve any chemical reaction. The project has an annual production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of industrial silicon lump.
