Zhuzhou Smelter Group to acquire 100% stake in Minmetals Copper

Zhuzhou Smelter Group announced that it plans to acquire a 100% equity interest in Minmetals Copper (Hunan) Co., Ltd. held by Hunan Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd. for RMB1.27 billion (USD178 million) in cash. Upon completion, Minmetals Copper will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhuzhou Smelter Group.
Minmetals Copper is engaged in the smelting and processing of nonferrous metals with revenue mainly coming from its copper cathode business. Through the acquisition, Zhuzhou Smelter Group aims to further improve its product mix based on the mining and smelting of lead and zinc.
