Yunnan Energy Investment launches 100ktpa silicon metal project

On October 26, Yunnan Provincial Energy Investment Group launched its 100,000tpa green silicon project with total investment of RMB1.5 billion (USD205 million) in Longling Baoshan. The 100ktpa silicon metal project and the company's 400ktpa organosilicone project are expected to support the development of green silicon industry in Yunnan.
The project will build six 33000KVA furnaces to produce industrial silicon as well as associated power generation facilities. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 100,000t of silicon metal and is expected to generate total industrial production value of RMB2 billion (USD273 million) and tax revenue of RMB100 million (USD13.67 million) annually.
