Baotou Xuyang Silicon gets approval to build 150ktpa industrial silicon project

The 150,000tpa industrial silicon project developed by Baotou Xuyang Silicon Material Technology Co., Ltd. has been approved by the local development and reform commission in Tumid Youqi, Inner Mongolia.
With total investment estimated at RMB2.4 billion (USD329 million), the project will be located at Tumid Youqi New Industrial Park in Baotou and is scheduled to break ground in April 2024 and finish construction by August 2028.
The project, with a land area of around 390Mu (24 hectares) and a floor area of 200,000 square meters, has an annual production capacity of 150,000t of industrial silicon, including 131,000t of high purity silicon metal powder and 18,600t of silicon metal powder.
