Sunstone to launch phase two of 200ktpa lithium battery anode material project

In 2022, Sunstone stepped into the lithium battery anode material market by acquiring a 94.9777% stake in Foshan Xinyuan Electronic Co., Ltd. and, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Gansu Sunstone Shengyuan Carbon Materials Co., Ltd., invested in the 200,000tpa lithium battery anode material project and started to build the phase one of the project with production capacity of 50,000tpa at Jiabei Industrial Park in Jiayuguan, Gansu.
To date, Sunstone has completed construction of the phase one and put the 25,000tpa graphitization production line into operation. The company plans to invest about RMB2.48 billion (USD341 million) to improve the phase one production line and to build the second phase with capacity of 50,000tpa.
