Tongwei to build 400ktpa industrial silicon project in Cangxi, China

On August 1, Tongwei entered into an investment agreement with Guangyuan city government and Cangxi county government for its 400,000tpa green base material (industrial silicon) project.
The company plans to invest RMB5.8 billion (USD804 million) to build the 400,000tpa silicon metal project in Cangxi county. When reaching full capacity, the project is expected to achieve annual production value of nearly RMB8 billion (USD1.11 billion) and tax contribution of RMB400 million (USD55.46 million) and create around 2,000 jobs.
