Shuangyuan Aluminium to add 100ktpa primary aluminum capacity

The primary aluminum capacity replacement scheme by Guizhou Liupanshui Shuangyuan Aluminium Co., Ltd. was released by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology for public disclosure until August 11, 2023.
The company plans to add primary aluminum production capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) by building 74 units of 500KA electrolytic cell through a capacity replacement program where Shandong Nanshan Aluminum will shut down 256 units of 300kA cell which amounts to capacity of 200,000tpa.
Shuangyuan Aluminium expects to begin construction after obtaining necessary permits and the new capacity is scheduled to come on stream in March 2025.
