Baotou's 50ktpa silicon metal powder project gets EIA approval

The Ecology and Environment Bureau of Baotou has agreed to approve the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the 50,000tpa silicon metal powder project developed by Baotou Xingwo Trading Co., Ltd. and public opinion is being sought at the moment.
According to the public disclosure, the project will be located at Baotou Metal Deep-processing Zone in Inner Mongolia. With total investment of RMB27 million (USD3.78 million) and a construction period of ten months, the project will build six silicon lump crushing lines, mainly including crusher and screening device and associated facilities.
The project has a designed production capacity of 40,000tpa of silicon metal powder (Si4210, 10-200mesh) and 10,000tpa of silicon metal powder (Si5210, 200-235mesh), subject to standard GB/T 2881-2014.
