China steps up green transition for industrial sector

China has further expanded the scope of green transition for industrial sector with the addition of 11 industries including silicon metal and titanium dioxide, according to to the latest energy efficiency benchmarks for key industries jointly announced by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other three departments.
The newly-added 11 industries should in principle complete the technical transformation for energy conservation and carbon reduction or shut down project that fail to meet benchmarks by the end of 2026.
