GEM to jointly invest in construction of nickel raw material project for new energy in Indonesia

GEM recently announced that on May 10, its wholly-owned subsidiary, GEM (Wuxi), signed a joint venture framework agreement with CAHAYA and Weiming (Hong Kong), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Weiming Environmental Protection. The parties agreed to jointly invest in the construction of nickel raw material project (nickel intermediate) for new energy with an annual output of 20,000 metal tons by hydrometallurgical process of laterite nickel ore in the Tsingshan Park of Sino-Indonesia Comprehensive Industrial Park in Morowaali County, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, and the total investment is tentatively set at USD500 million. The project will be implemented by a joint venture company established by all parties (or their affiliated companies) in Indonesia, and GEM (Wuxi) will hold 51% equity of the joint venture company.
