Chinese LC ferrochrome export prices steady

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Apr 23 – Most suppliers keep their prices unchanged from early this week due to the unchanged prices of LC ferrochrome in domestic market. Currently, the mainstream export prices for LC ferrochrome Cr60%min C0.1%max stand at USD2.38-2.40/Ib Cr FOB China, in line with early this week. Insiders hold positive attitudes and predict the mainstream prices might increase in the coming week.
A trader from North China mentioned, "We offer USD2.34/Ib Cr FOB China for LC ferrochrome Cr60%min C0.1%max and could accept the price as low as USD2.32/Ib Cr this week; we quote USD2.42/Ib Cr for Cr65%min C0.1%max and could not accept any prices lower than USD2.40/Ib Cr at the moment, in line with early this week". They did not conclude any deal at present and last sold around 50t at USD2.53/Ib Cr in early April. They hold positive attitudes and predict the mainstream prices would increase in the coming week.
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of around 100t of LC ferrochrome Cr60%min C0.1%max, predicts to sell around 50t in April, down by around 50t from March. They have no stock at present.
A trader from Taiwan disclosed, "We received the quotation at USD2.30/Ib Cr CIF Taiwan for LC ferrochrome Cr60%min C0.1%max with no concession this week from mainland China". They did not purchase because their customers wanted to purchase at USD2.25/Ib Cr this week. They last purchased around 25t at USD2.45/Ib Cr in mid March. They estimate the mainstream prices might increase in the following week.
