BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Apr 23 - Supported by the firm prices of imported zircon sand 66%min, the current mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China firmly stand at RMB35,500-36,000/t (USD5,130-5,203/t) delivered D/A 180 days, unchanged from early last week. Given the firm production cost but sluggish demand, insiders foresee the mainstream prices of fused desilicated 98.5%min in China would go steady next week.
A consumer in Henan disclosed that he bought 30t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB35,500/t (USD5,310/t) delivered D/A 180 days covered the logistic of RMB100/t (USD15/t) on Wednesday, and the supplier insisted on the same price early last week. "As CNY keeps depreciating, the supplier's import cost increased slightly, and both of my two suppliers refused any bargains this week," revealed the consumer on Wednesday. He mentioned that his consumption of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min curtailed in April against March, while he foresees the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would go steady upon the firm offers.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of about 700t for fused zirconia, plans to consume 30t in April, down by about 20t from last month, holding around 30t in stock.
Another consumer in Jiangsu revealed that he bough 20t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB35,700/t (USD5,174/t) delivered D/A 180 days covered the transport of RMB100/t (USD14/t) on Tuesday, in line with the supplier's price early last week. "The firm prices of imported zircon sand 66%min strengthened most supplier's fused desilicated zirconia prices this week, and I predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would go steady despite the sluggish demand in China.
