Thailand Wanasa decreases tin concentrate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Apr 23 - Discouraged by reduction in production of downstream client, a major tin concentrate 70%min producer in Thailand, Thailand Wanasa Co., Ltd., halved the output to about 30 metal tons in April.
"As our only downstream client, Thaiand Smelting and Refining Co., Ltd.(Thaisarco), cut the production in April, we had to decrease the production to about 30 metal tons in April, down by 30 metal tons from last month," the source from the company reported, adding that their output next month depends entirely on the production of Thaisarco.
With an annual production capacity of 1,500 metal tons, the company exploits ore from mines in Southern Thailand to produce tin concentrate 70%min. They produced about 600 metal tons in 2022, holding no inventory at present.
On Wednesday, the mainstream prices of tin ingot 70%min stand at USD24,700-24,800/metal ton EXW D/P in Thailand, up by USD100/metal ton from yesterday. As the market demand went soft, insiders predicted that the Thai mainstream prices of tin concentrate would edge down in the next week.
