BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Apr 23 - Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers reduced their prices this week on weak demand and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices. The present mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS hover at RMB15,750-15,800/t (USD2,279-2,287/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi and RMB15,850-15,900/t (USD2,294-2,301/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin respectively, both down by RMB400/t (USD58/t) from last Friday. Insiders expect Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to go down by another RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week dragged by customers' slow buying activities.
A Wuxi-based distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC reported to Asian Metal that the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS stands at RMB15,800/t (USD2,287/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi with no discounts for the time being, down by RMB400/t (USD58/t) compared with that of last Friday. "Considering TTSS further cut the EXW prices of 304 grade stainless CRC by RMB100/t (USD14/t) on April 25th after the decrease of RMB150/t (USD22/t) on April 24th and RMB150/t (USD22/t) on April 23rd, we reduced the price by RMB400/t (USD58/t) this week," said the trader. However, expecting the price to go down further, many customers just hold wait-and-see attitudes at present and place orders sparingly. He just sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB15,800/t (USD2,287/t) and last sold about 10t last Friday at RMB16,200/t (USD2,345/t). The trader intends to further decrease the price and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would move down by another RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week on weak demand.
Based on the regular sales volume of around 2,000tpm, the company sold about 2,000t last month and anticipates a stable sales amount in April. Having a stockpile of about 1,000t in hand now, up from around 800t last month, they sold about 5,000t in Q1 of this year and around 20,000t in 2022.
Another Tianjin-based 304 grade stainless CRC trader quotes RMB15,900/t (USD2,301/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin for stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS without any concessions now, down by RMB400/t (USD58/t) from last Friday. "We also followed other traders to lower the price by RMB400/t (USD58/t) this week on weak demand and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices," said the trader. According to him, with the arrival of May Day holiday, customers still purchase materials upon orders at the moment. He just sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB15,900/t (USD2,301/t) and last sold around 10t last Friday at RMB16,300/t (USD2,359/t). The trader plans to further cut the price and expects Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to drop by another RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week on soft demand.
