Jiyuan Persimmon Industry reduces lead ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Apr 23 - Due to shortage of raw materials, Jiyuan Persimmon Industry Co., Ltd., a medium-sized lead ingot producer in Henan, reduced production of lead ingot from 6,000t in March to around 3,000t in April.
"We reduced the production to about 3,000t in April due to limited raw materials, halved MoM," the source said from the company. They would probably produce about 3,000t next month as the shortage of raw materials supply couldn't be solved in a short time.
With an annual production capacity of 80,000t for lead ingot, the company produced about 63,000t in 2022 and around 13,000t so far this year, holding no stock presently. The company purchased crude lead 96-98%min from Henan and nearby areas to produce lead ingot 99.994%min. They have an electrolytic lead production line, an alloy lead production line, a 6m2 reflective furnace and an electrolytic lead comprehensive utilization and recovery workshop. Their downstream customers are mostly lead-acid battery plants, such as Leoch International, Jiangsu Red Sun battery, Yunnan Chihong etc.
Currently, the mainstream prices for lead ingot 99.994%min stood at RMB15,060-15,260/t (USD2,187-2,217/t) in warehouse Shanghai, in line with yesterday. Considering that the stable downstream consumption, insiders predicted that the mainstream prices of Chinese lead ingot 99.994%min would flatten out tomorrow.
