BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Apr 23 - Depressed by the continuous decline in the demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 fell by RMB100/t (USD14.49/t) from last Sunday to RMB18,400-18,600/t (USD2,666-2,695/t) delivered D/P this Monday
A producer in East China revealed that they could accept a price as low as RMB18,500/t (USD2,681/t) delivered D/P for aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 on Monday, while they offered RMB18,600/t (USD2,695/t) delivered D/P and refused counteroffers last Sunday. "We sold 30t at RMB18,500/t (USD2,681/t) delivered D/P today and another 30t at RMB18,600/t (USD2,695/t) delivered D/P last Sunday," the source said, adding that orders from one of their regular customers in April decreased by about 30% from those in March, and the demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot keeps weak, so prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 might move down in the following week.
With an annual production capacity of 84,000t, the producer produced about 38,200t in 2022 and about 5,500t in the first quarter of this year. They hold about 900t of stocks now.
A producer in Central China indicated that they could accept a price as low as RMB18,400/t (USD2,666/t) delivered D/P for aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 on Monday, while they closed deals at RMB18,500/t (USD2,681/t) delivered D/P last Sunday, without any concessions. "We sold 66t at RMB18,400/t (USD2,666/t) delivered D/P today and 30t at RMB18,500/t (USD2,681/t) delivered D/P last Sunday," the source said, adding that the demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot is still weak at present, and the consumption of one of their major customers decreases from about 2,700t in March to about 2,200t in April . Therefore, prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 might keep declining in the week to come.
With an annual production capacity of 50,000t, the producer produced about 26,000t in 2022 and about 5,900t in the first quarter of this year. Holding about 100t of stocks now, the producer expects to produce about 2,200t in April, down from about 2,700t in March.
