Shangdu Yezhao Metallurgy decreases HC ferrochrome production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Apr 23 - Shangdu Yezhao Metallurgy Co., Ltd., one of the HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max producers, stopped their production late last week, a source from this company revealed to Asian Metal.
The producer mentioned, "We stopped our production and predict to resume our production in July or August". They hold 3 furnaces of 16,500kVA at present and plan to upgrade them to one furnace of 42,000kVA and once furnace of 33,000kVA. They produced around 2,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max in April, down by around 1,000t from March.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 120,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, stopped their production late last week and predicts to produce in July or August. They produced around 10,000t in 2023.
On Sunday, the mainstream prices for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max stands at RMB8,400-8,600/t (USD1,218-1,247/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week. Insiders predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the coming three days as most suppliers hold watchful attitudes and have no plan to change their prices.
