Indian HC ferrochrome prices in Chinese market flat

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Apr 23 – Most suppliers hold watchful attitudes and keep their prices unchanged from early this week. Currently, the mainstream prices for Indian HC ferrochrome Cr58%min C8%max stand at RMB8,700-8,900/t (USD1,262-1,291/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from mid this week. Insiders hold wait-and-see attitudes and predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the coming three days.
A trader from South China mentioned, "We quote RMB8,900/t (USD1,291/t) EXW D/P for Indian HC ferrochrome Cr58%min C8%max and could accept the price as low as RMB8,800/t (USD1,276/t) EXW D/P at present, in line with mid this week". They last sold around 30t at RMB8,800/t (USD1,276/t) EXW D/P late last week. They also noted that most of the customers hold watchful attitudes and would like to wait for the purchase prices of steel mills at present, so they did not receive the customers' inquiries today. They predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the coming three days and they have no plan to change their prices as well.
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of around 100t of Indian HC ferrochrome Cr58%min C8%max, predicts to sell around 100t in April, unchanged from March. They have around 200t of stocks at the moment.
