NBS: China's Q1 rebar production up by 1.6% YoY

China's rebar production recorded 23.28 million tonnes in March 2023, up by 12.1% YoY, and the country produced 17.36 million tonnes of medium-thickness wide steel strip, up by 6.5% YoY, and 13.53 million tonnes of wire rod, up by 9.7% YoY, while that of iron ore (raw ore) was 86.40 million tonnes, down by 4.8% YoY, according to the latest data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In the first quarter of 2023, the production of rebar increased by 1.6% YoY to 57.16 million tonnes; that of medium-thickness wide steel strip was 49.14 million tonnes, up by 9.7% YoY; that of wire rod totaled 35.21 million tonnes, up by 7.9% YoY; that of iron ore (raw ore) was 243.27 million tonnes, up by 0.7% YoY.
