BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Apr 23 - Supported by firm antimony trioxide prices, Chinese ethylene glycol antimony suppliers don't adjust their quotations this week on the whole. Mainstream prices of Chinese ethylene glycol antimony 57%min stand a RMB57,500-58,500/t (USD8,353-8,498/t) delivered D/A 60 days at present, stable from early this week. Due to firm raw material prices and the fact that downstream consumers keep purchasing based on demand, insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese ethylene glycol antimony 57%min would witness no fluctuation in the coming week.
A producer in South China said, "We now quote RMB58,000/t (USD8,425/t) delivered D/A 60 days for ethylene glycol antimony 57%min and could give a discount of RMB500/t (USD72.63/t) for firm orders from regular customers. We already sold about 10t of the material at RMB57,500/t (USD8,353/t) by now this week and the price was the same as early this week." The producer noted that the domestic antimony trioxide market sees firm prices this week, adding that the antimony trioxide 99.5%min price they received this week goes up slightly to around RMB70,500/t (USD10,241/t) while some suppliers still could accept the price of RMB70,000/t (USD10,168/t) for the raw material last week. Supported by slight increase of raw material prices, the producer is more inclined to temporarily keep the ethylene glycol antimony quotation unchanged. Due to stable demand in the market, they intend to keep their ethylene glycol antimony 57%min output at about 150t this month, basically unchanged MOM. Given firm raw material prices and robust demand in the terminal market, the producer predicts that mainstream prices of Chinese ethylene glycol antimony 57%min would stay steady in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000t of ethylene glycol antimony 57%min, the producer produced about 1,800t of the material in 2022 and about 600t by now in 2023, expecting to produce about 150t this month, stable MOM. They now temporarily hold no spot stocks, basically unchanged from the same period of last month.
