BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 23 – Most suppliers keep their prices unchanged from early this week due to the unchanged prices of chrome ore. Currently, the mainstream prices for Chinese HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max stand at RMB8,400-8,600/t (USD1,221-1,250/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week
A trader from North China mentioned, "We offer RMB8,700/t (USD1,264/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max with no concession at present, unchanged from early this week". They received the quotation at RMB8,450/t (USD1,228/t) delivered D/P from the Inner Mongolia producer this week. They last sold around 30t at RMB8,700/t (USD1,264/t) EXW D/P early this week . They hold pessimistic attitudes because some of their customers already stopped the production . They predict the mainstream prices would decrease in the coming week, and they might move down their price as well.
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of around 100t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, estimates to sell around 100t in April, unchanged from last month. They have no stock at present.
A producer from North China disclosed, "We quote RMB8,600/t (USD1,249/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max 10-50mm and quote RMB8,450/t (USD1,228/t) EXW D/P for 10-200mm at present, in line with early this week". They last sold around 2,000t for RMB8,600/t (USD1,249/t) for 10-50mm late last week. They received an inquiry today, but they refused because the customer wanted to purchase at RMB8,300/t (USD1,206/t) . They hold pessimistic attitudes and predict the mainstream prices would decrease in the following week, and they might decrease their price as well.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 96,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, predicts to produce around 6,000t in April, unchanged from March. They produced around 18,000t so far in 2023 . They have no stock at present.
