BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 23 - Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min market sees inactive deals now as most downstream consumers only watch the market without any purchase plans. Producers generally insist on their prices in view of limited stocks. Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min hover at RMB57,500-58,500/t (USD3.79-3.86/lb) EXW D/P, unchanged from the end of last week. Insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would stay unchanged within this week due to wait-and-see attitudes from both suppliers and buyers.
A Southern China trader mentioned that they offer RMB58,500/t (USD3.86/lb) EXW D/P for bismuth ingot 99.99%min now and refuse to lower the price even for regular consumers, the same as early this week, while did not close any deal over the past two weeks after they moved up the prices. They last sold around 65t at RMB57,000/t (USD3.76/lb) EXW D/P early April and then watched the market till now. The source said, "As our stocks keep in a low level, we stay in no hurry to sell and forecast that the prevailing prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would remain unchanged within this week."
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of 200t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min, expects to sell around 200t this month, in line with last month. They hold around 65t of stocks now, down by about 65t from late last month.
A consumer in Southern China stated that their regular suppliers generally insist on RMB59,000/t (USD3.89/lb) EXW D/P for bismuth ingot 99.99%min now, unchanged from last week. However, as their consumers' demand stays soft and they hold no confidence about the market, they did not build stock from regular suppliers over the past week and last purchased around 33t at RMB56,000/t (USD3.69/lb) EXW D/P early last week from a trader, who built the stocks three years ago. The source said, "We are of the opinion that the prevailing prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would remain stable in rest days of this week due to firm prices from producers presently."
