Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide powder 99.5%min stand at RMB140,000-145,000/t (USD9.3-9.6/lb V2O5) EXW D/P, down by RMB7,000/t (USD0.5/lb V2O5) from middle last week. Considering that most buyers prefer to watch the market and the rare inquiries in spot market continues, insiders expect that the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide powder 99.5%min drop further in the coming week.
"Prices of ammonium metavanadate 98%min we inquired to the latest around RMB112,000/t (USD16.4/kg) EXW D/P and our clients all prefer to watch the market now," said a producer in North China. In order to guarantee their market competitiveness, we could accept RMB143,000/t (USD9.5/lb V2O5) EXW D/P for firm bids of vanadium pentoxide powder 99.5%min now. They quote RMB145,000/t (USD9.6/lb V2O5) in public for the moment and just sold 10t at RMB143,000/t (USD9.5/lb V2O5) late last week. However, they refused to sell at any prices below RMB156,000/t (USD10.3/lb V2O5) two weeks ago. Considering that inquiries keep rare and they couldn't get any effective support from terminal users, they expect that the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide powder 99.5%min would drop below RMB140,000/t (USD9.3/lb V2O5) in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 1,000t, they produced about 590t in 2022 and about 100t so far this year. They expect to produce about 40t this month, the same as last month, holding nearly 10t of stocks now, unchanged MoM.
