BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Apr 23 - Owing to the stable downstream demand, most suppliers of manganese dioxide in China firm their prices. Currently, the prevailing prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min stand unchanged from early this week at RMB17,000-17,300/t (USD2,472-2,516/t) EXW D/P. As the market shows stable demand, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would remain steady next week.
A producer in South China disclosed, "We keep our quotation for manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min unchanged from early this week at RMB17,300/t (USD2,516/t) EXW D/P and we could not accept any prices lower than that". The producer noted their clients purchase steadily at present compared with last month and they last sold about 3,00t at RMB17,300/t (USD2,516/t) last Wednesday. Given the stable market, the producer plans to keep their price unchanged and believes that the mainstream prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would stay firm next week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 30,000t of manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min, plans to produce 1,500t in April, unchanged from last month. The producer holds around 1,000t of stocks at present.
Another producer in South China revealed, "Our clients placed orders steadily and our production follows orders, therefore we could not decrease our price". The producer currently offers RMB17,200/t (USD2,501/t) EXW D/P for manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min with discounts of no more than RMB100/t (USD14/t), on par with early this week." The producer received no inquiry today and last sold 500t at RMB17,200/t (USD2,501/t) in early April. Due to the stable market, the producer intends to firm the price and foresees that the prevailing prices of Chinese manganese dioxide alkaline 91%min would stay unchanged in the following days.
